Sometimes, they'll come when
called, clamoring, wanting their
voices to be heard. In their haste,
they push and shove each other
from the pen, jostling, shouting ---
wanting to be the first one on
the page. I have to remind them
that each of them is important;
each will have their say. And at
other times, they get stubborn,
refusing to listen to their Muse:
they've developed selective
hearing all of a sudden. They'd
much rather stay in their room.
