Another time I needed the Fire Department to put out my red face.

... so twin sister and I walk to
the gas station, probably to
get a coke or smoke. Forget,
now. While there, get a wild
hair to buy a scratch off ...
you know, just in case the ship
decides to come in. Scratch
and win fifty dollars --- okay,
so said ship was a canoe, but
hey. In comes a policeman, he
said, "Winner?" Yep. Said
he just got in from Shreveport,
won six hundred dollars, all in
quarters. Swear. Meant to ask
how he kept his pants up, what
came out was, "How did you
keep your underwear up?"
Twin sis no help. She's rolling
on the ground, gasping like a
fish in laughter (she does that
a lot, wonder why). I couldn't
apologize enough. Bet I gave
the policeman something to
laugh about the rest of his day.
That's one bet I know I'd win.

Today would have been my big, strong Daddy's 78th birthday. Love you and miss you ... :(
What a wonderful, uplifting story that would put smiles on anyone's face! I am sure your father is watching over you, even when you are unaware. God bless....
Your humorous nature and dry humor shine through in this very anecdotal tale. It's so human and it says so much. You have an interesting and breezy urban style.
Good one, Karla. I can see your sister now! And my beloved step-dad's birthday, also #78, is next Friday.

Someone I know was listening to a educational program about alcohol effect on pregnancy, car driving, youths...when the phone rang, it was the doctors office telling to come first thing in the morning for a blood test, with an hear on the radio and the other on the phone that person asked "should I come sober?" (thinking fast, empty stomach) that nurse howled with later few seconds after.
Funny write, Karla; glad I could be there to witness it, share in this moment of hilarity! You wonder why I wind up on the floor, gasping with laughter?? You, my dear, make me laugh! Maybe not intentionally, but you do! LOL Grinnin' now as I remember your red face; you're right; it WAS funny!! LOL
(((HUGS))) and much love, your twin, Karen Lynn. :D LOLOLOL
Oh you are priceless Karla, and I can hear Karen's laughter, which I would have joined in if I'd have been there. Great story. Love, Bonnie, Is this the same officer you got hooked too? How funny.
Take your Dad a flower, if you can, and wish him a happy birthday. Big strong spirits need smiles, too. And hugs from daughters.
