well, of course, a pretty anvil
crawler crawls across the sky
while deleting. Okay: this one
I'll --- nope. M i s s e d. Will sit
here forever, have the patience
of Job --- oh! Got one! Thank
You, Lord (even though it was
just a bright behind the cloud,
lovely just the same). Let's get
another. Miss. MISS! Grrrrrrr:
delete, delete (how many have
I taken? Least a hundred) Just
one OH! Got it: a teeny, tiny
spider spinning its web from
right to left --- let me have one
more --- m i s s e d. Miss. Aw,
nuts, batteries died (why don't
they last as long as it took to
charge the durn things?). The
life of a StormSpinner trying to
chase lightning, get it on film,
wondering why my images do
not compare with other chasers
who make it look effortless ...
delete. Delete. Delete: dang.
Erased all but five. Next storm
comes, you'll find me out in the
elements, trying one more time
... really need a new camera!

ohhhhhhh i so know the feeling i was out in Nex Mexico high desert ..storm raging ..... and you would thin i could get just one lousy shot of lighting .nope nada ..i enjoyed your write,,been there done that,

It can get quite frustrating. I can truly empathize with trying to capture that perfect moment. I have found that much of the special moments are just accidents. Blessings ...
This is so funny...and not.... been there..done that... and mainly since I can't afford a dam camcorder anymore...so this little digital has to make all my picture dreams come true for now... who knows... maybe one day someone will give me such a nice gift????? hehe... great shot...and great words... lindalaw

Why am I thinking ... camcorder ... one that allows you to download to your puter so you can trap one frame at a time on Paint Shop Pro? Beats the heck out of my vision of you out there in the wind and the driving rain, cussing and looking like a drowned rodent :-)
Well, if you would quit droppin' the durn thing every time a good flash goes off...LOL
You are waaaaaay too exciteable trying to capture Storm's beauty! LOL Delightful write of a (non) stormchaser's foibles! Very well penned; just be careful out dere while shootin' those lightnin' bolts (or one might come down to visit YEW!!)!! LOL
