... Hear growling: ....

Poem Artwork

Parked on this side of the hill,
what's on the other side??  It
can't be good, judging from
that sky.  Hear growling:  is it
Papa Bear, awakened from a
nap?  Perhaps it's Mama Bear
yelling at Baby Bear or maybe
it's Baby Bear's tummy --- it
sounds like he hasn't eaten in
a while.  So what say we go on
down the road a bit, where it's
safer for both of us?  Best to
let sleeping bears lie where
they are and not rattle the cage.

How cute! You are the authority on storms. When you can't BEAR any more, you write another poem. Originality plus!

Connie

... and keep your doors locked is what that traffic sign also says to me! :)) Nicely sustained metaphor, Karla, and great imagination. xx

When we hear bears in far Southern California, we look at each other and ask in wonder, "What the hell was that?"
This last winter, I think I heard the growl of thunder possibly two times, and asked in awe, "Did you hear that? What the hell was that?"

Good advice, Karla; particularly since this is spring and the time for bears to emerge from their dens and no doubt, they are hungry. A fine metaphorical offering. Love and best wishes,

Regis
