Grandmas cuddle and hug and love with all their might, I know we have fourteen of them. You can do that because it comes naturally when you se that beautiful bit of joy. that gift from above, that little one will fill your heart full of love.

LOL! This is great news, Karla. I know how you must feel, though. My grandmothers were strong, multitalented women -- talented cooks, excellent homemakers, great at sewing, knitting, crocheting, tatting, canning fruits from the garden, and more. Although I learned all of those things from them, none of it is useful in my current lifestyle. Different skills for different generations, I suppose, my friend. You will teach your grandchild to write and express him/herself clearly, concisely, and with an accuracy and depth of emotion to which others will immediately resonate.
Karla, you need not attempt to be one thing beyond the loving caring person you already are -- being a grandparent is like being a parent -- only there are a few perquisites we grandparents have that parents do not -- relax, it will come naturally and be immensely enjoyable -- I bid you joy love and peace my dear friend -- Jon Michael

Well Karla, can't tell you if it is different to be a grandma or grandpa but I think it still comes down to loving them, being there for them every chance you get, yes even spoiling them now and then...but no matter how you look at it being Grand parent is the real reward for raising our children. You'll figure it out Karla. God has just blessed Michele and me with our 4th. It's a very natural progression that requires tolerance, acceptance, objectiveness, oodles of unconditional love, and your hands and heart always extended. Congrats! richard
