"Observing Nature's Show"
by Amber "V" Moonstone 1/3/08
Yesterday, the brook was flowing
this morning, it is frozen over.
The ice covering glistens
on this crisp winter morning.
Bare branches house nature's creatures,
the cardinal and his family,
my friends the three squirrels,
and of course, those beautiful hawks.
During the summer months,
I am aware of these creatures,
but they discreetly go about their lives
under the cover of mother nature.
Now, as the trees stand barren,
they are vulnerable to predators
and that includes some humans.
We must protect our Earth's animals.
They carry with them centuries of wisdom
along with the innate ability to survive
the most brutal weather and adversity.
They live harmoniously in nature.
Learning so much by watching,
observing nature's show,
can enlighten and enhance your life
far beyond any imagining!
As the water still flows
beneath the ice covering
I can still hear the babbling brook
that I love so much during the summer.
Joyous are the moments
that I can live as one in nature,
Peaceful is the day
that I stand and become one with nature!
author's notes: The sight of my brook all glistening under the sunlight this morning, and observing the activity of nature's creatures in the trees, sparked this poem...Much peace, love, and Light,

Peceful is the day
that I stand and become one with nature! LOVELY POEM!
Exquisite imagery seen through your words, as yesterday I walked through the woods and reflected on the same!
The possibilites are endless! I think that will be my next poem!
Wonderful blessings share Amber "V"

I agree; Nature's beautiful even when "she's" supposedly "ugly" - but alas, I miss those New England running brooks. A nice nature dedication poem for winter.
A beautiful write my friend, the creek flowing behind my house is iced over as well...I enjoyed the view of the water flowing beneath the ice this morning, your poem inspired me to go back to my kitchen window for a second look of pleasure...well done my friend!
Blessings,
Joyce B.

A beaut, and now even we are drowning in snow, one part of the town had nearly a centimetre in 24 hours....
Love the sound of babbling spring, searching for mino salmon...

It truly can, and we should all start teaching our youngsters how to watch, how to imagine, and how to start protecting Mother Nature's many wondrous gifts.
Explore the mystery of how nature makes unexpected gifts of creative wonders to an unsuspecting caregiver one late night and early morning in southeastern Georgia, USA.
