That's nice; makes me miss NYC and Long Island (eastern) where i grew up and spent time in up until I was 30 something... Miss those short northern summers especially around the Solstice! Last once I had up North was in Vermont, 2003. Hiked around a wilderness lake until dark on the the first day of summer...best memory ever!

Ah, this is the official day of summer, but we down here in the swamps have had a couple of months of it already. When I was young I enjoyed the summer more than now. Still, it is what it is.

This was indeed a beautiful day and Hubby and I took off on the Harley for hours and even sat to enjoy the breeze off the water along our journey. Great write Amber.

As a Long Islander, with Jones Beach about 7 miles from my home, I spent many a day there with my wife and kids Spring, Summer and Fall. Winter was a bit too chilly but my wife and I went anyhow and loved it. Nothing like the smell of the ocean and the crashing of the waves to soothe the savage beast.

Actually I dred the next 4 months. The temperture is always in triple digits. It's funny when I was young I loved this season. Great write, Amber.
