Dig, Dig Work and Trouble,
Fires burning and barrels bubble
The enemy crawls like snakes
In deepest valley they boil and bake
Eyes renewed and clear of fog
Covered slopes of rock and sod
Pitched fork and armored sting
A bleeding wound and bullets zing
For there in no charm in a loud trouble
Fires burning and barrels bubble
Cool it with a calm command
Youth undisturbed on the sand
To what honor’s song do we play?
Only to each other we pledge the day
To come home alive
after 365
Songs of Trouble
Gaining Might
as we gear for the night
Stayin’ alive
with all our might...

A painful, powerful write of war: God bless those who've served! Thank YOU, Sir, for YOURS. Well penned.
(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
The last stanza says it all. War is a horrific experience, and it's sad our young people have to be the victims that give their lives.
