The song that has no words

One of my dreams is to be a working songwriter. I wrote my very first song at age 11 and I never forgot the melody, since then I've written over 300 songs, most of them with the music. Gene reignited that in me today when I came up with music to his beautiful lyrics "Old Lovers Never Seem to Age" I have always been able to look at words and sing them out like that. I have missed doing that. Thanks Gene.

Poem Artwork

She sits with her back against the moonlight
Melting into the oils of afternight
Butterfly lips sealed
porcelain eyes shut
humming away a tune that is the color purple
As she breaths, her jellyfish lung rings
sending a million chimming messages across the universe
one that should bring together stars and tears
Their dust and mist would leave a residue across her lips,
shattering the ten thousand year old spell
Only then will she begin to remember
the words to the song that has no words.

I think your mind should be in an art museum...:) "The mind with ceaseless beauty and creativity..." The picture makes the title and the piece so sublime. You inspire me girl. Love you.

A song that has no words is inside the heart of a lover.
Nice poem, perfect for singing it a capella or with a background of a very softly played gitar, like wispering music.
