Echoes

In misty visions of the night
Un-welcomed shadows of yesterday
Dance playfully with heartless fears
And thoughtless wonders
To the sound of a once forgotten melody
Which whispers the name of hell

A hot desert-like wind echoes again - again - again
That name of hell, as heaven's fallen
slithers past golden leaves
Weaving it's way through the uncharted paths
Of my mind's Eden
To the hidden tree of my hearts desire

My innocence dies waiting
For a prophet, a priest , a king
An inner being
To resurrect the offering
Which takes me beyond Sagan's "Dragon's of Eden"
Back to the place I usually dwell
A place I tread more often than not
The line between heaven and hell

Lori,
This poem is hauntingly familiar to me! I have visited this place far to often, and hope not to return. You know, I am not going to sit here and try and tell you that I know of exactly what you speak because I don't. What I will say, is that the demons come in many disguises, and far to often they come as beautiful roses, and not ugly snakes! I hope that makes sense. Then we are left wondering about, saying "What happened, why and how the hell did I wind up back in this ugly place again?" It is soooo hard to differentiate, but every time we don't we give the power back to them, and wind up getting hurdled back into our nightmares!!!!
All the while they are LOVING it!!!!! So, WE need to take OUR POWER back!!!!

BTW, as you can tell I think this is a POWERFUL PIECE, Excellent JOB!!!!

Love and Light,
Hugs,
Maria

Yes I know I'm late reading these but I never saw you posted here before so I am trying to catch up.
Now about the poem
balance between the two is often very difficult especially when you rely on someone else to provide the ticket to either.
you really balanced the contrasts with this

Beautiful Lady,

You speak of yesterday of the past that no longer exists, with the present full of miseries and the uncertain future. Yet all you have to overcome is the fear of the uncertainty and you will bounce back as a young and vibrant green leaf at spring time.

I am sure you will find that prophet, priest , the king or the inner being that will sweep you off your feet you must keep on looking for that special person who is out there waiting just for you.

Garrett.
