Ah! The season for gathering Mermaid's tears is fast approaching......sigh.....

Poem Artwork

They sat upon the soft white sand,
Bodies touching, hand in hand.
With a gently sighing ocean hiss
Neath a pale blue sky they shared a kiss.
Her lips as warm as a summer day
His passion took her breath away!
Skin soft as silk, her eyes so blue
She was his every dream come true .
Strong and lean, a perfect face
In his coal black hair her fingers laced!
Seagulls mocked them from above
“Yours is an impossible love”!
Sadly, they knew their love must end
It was senseless to pretend!
A maid of the sea, and a sailor man
Their fate was written in the sand!
On a beautiful day beside the sea
They knew their love could never be!

Sadly, this is a common theme of this life/world, Annabel. Nicely expressed. Love and best wishes,

Very nicely done and yes, I look forward to soon being out on the beach combing for treasures and taking pictures with my new Nikon. Just this morning I drove along the shores of Eastern Passage and as always was captivating by ther waves crashing in on the shore.

Thoroughly enjoyable, beautifully mystical poem that leads me to think of the love of a human and a mermaid.
Your friend, Mark

Letting go is always the most difficult. Sometimes it just isn't meant to be. At least they have the memories of their impossible love! Great poem! Take care,~Chessly

She must've been a mermaid! This is so lovely and lyrical that it would make a great song. The only thing I worry about is the ocean hissing like a snake. ;-)

This is luminous Anna!!!
You reveal the art of loving and letting go, the suffering involved, and then wrap the whole thing in charm.
Blessings,
Christine

Aw, and here I thought mermaids didn't cry. You have devastated me to find out. It ranks right up there with finding out there really was no tooth fairy.

I can tell you are hurrying spring, and with it, amour as quickly as you can, Anna.

Oh- perfection here.
Yet it takes a dagger and plunges it in the heart-
And the lights go out...
And in the darkness- the sound of the waves- rushing back out to sea.

*sigh*
