We spent our summers there as boys. Our father drove an hour to work and back to Campelot each day. I lived in the water or on it in one of the kayaks he built for us, later on to be replaced with small hydroplane boats. What you imagine is real and Annabel captures it so very well. I don't know how she's able to do that. It's like she was there. We didn't know her back then. Thank you!!

lol..memories flush my mind...as 8 of us kids all one year apart took many family trips with my parents..the stories would blow you away....(youngest brother picked up by a bear)..yes true!

Oh, my God, Anna, the only thing missing is, "Yes, Matthew or Daniel or Bobby, Yes, I'm watching!" Days at the pool or the lake or the beach are filled with, "Watch me! Mommy, watch me!" Your words tickled past memories of my own four kids.

Amazing how she delivered these tiny creatures into grown men!
It is a divine drama, isn't it! I really enjoyed and can relate to this poetic expression! :)

I spent many a marvelous summer as a child just as you describe, and you've brought me many wonderful memories this morning, including how I loved to collect and examine those leeches - and frogs, and turtles, and anything else that lived along the lakeshore!
