Friendship... ...where would I be without it? I'm talkin' to myself... ...and sharing my thoughts.

Friendship You want to take it all Keep it In a cage A glass jar A garden plot A pen A prayer
A lovely tribute to friendship and I particularly liked "Friendship you want to take it all keep it in a cage a glass jar a garden plot a pen a prayer" ... very nice piece Reg ~ Hugs, Elizabeth
I wanted to post a another review of your poem 'Friendship' but since I posted before, it won't let me. I like that poem, Regis. I have very few people that deserve that title. Here is a poem about friendship my late wife loved. Note the way it should be read, that is the comma after the first word. It follows:
Oh, the comfort, the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person, having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but pouring them all out, just as they are, chaff and grain together, certain that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and with a breath of kindness blow the rest away.

Another precious truth revealed by you, Regis. I sometimes want to keep that kind of friendship in a cage but knowing what it can do to me, I have learned to set it free to blossom and share it's beauty with others. Kind of like your poetry. Am so glad that you are sharing yourself with all of us here. Love, Meredith

I fully agree.
Without true friends, this world would be cold and empty.
Good one.
Regis, you have no idea how these words totally melt my very being. It is simply THE MOST BEAUTIFUL POEM I HAVE EVER READ at this moment in time, simply because, I suppose, of where I'm at. I can hardly bring myself to comment - and I quickly want to say that I don't want to give the wrong vibe that I think it is intended for me or anything - Pah! As IF... but I can only read and take this personally, as we all do, in terms of how we interpret it and relate to it inside. With one sweet blow you have both slain and resurrected me - the chords of the inspiration of this go very deep in my wounded soul. "Thank you" is extraordinarily inadequate and shows the bankruptcy of mere words in the hands of someone at a loss to express or conjure them into the right sentiments. Actually, there IS no way to describe what this poem does for me. Needless to say I am keeping... You have given me the greatest gift EVER by these your words. Love Kate xx "Friendship... set it free"
No greater gift or joy, Regis. Such a wonderfully astute thought, and so well expressed. Hope you have many friends. A very Happy New Year to you, sir.
Well, you would know this because you make a fantastic friend, Regis. Love the poem too. Even when in love, the best relationships are built on friendship. When I've found romantic relationships not working out, I've been more disturbed by the loss of friendship (some people don't know how to end as friends) than the loss of a lover or potential lover. However, I know that sometimes this is asking too much of the other person. ~~Nordette

Dear Regis,
A true friend is, indeed, a treasure that's hard to find.
Oh yes, friendship-a most wonderful gift! As your words are to us, dear friend! This is like the butterfly that lights on your hand. You want to hold it there. But with wisdom you watch it dance away, marveling at it's beauty. That soft, sweet touch on your hand remains and that is what you are allowed to hold forever...
Regis I so agree with Lisa here. I found out just how much my family really cared for me, when I was in the hospital over the holidays. I had to call them to see what was going on at home. I would end every call with "I love you" and they would say back, "yeah ok, love you too." But I have friends and family here in AD, who accept me for me, and love me just as much as they love those around them. That is a very comfortable feeling. I know friendship, but I have never known true love. Those of my family say they love, only love me til the money runs out.
I also agree with Joselyn too. There is so much wisdom here. It is too bad that people have to be hit on the head, or almost die before they will heed it.
May the Lord Jesus bless you, and those whom you love, and be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, maybe too stubborn for my own good, joy to the world, peace on earth, & ((((((((((MANY WONDERFUL SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), your always sad and very terrified little sister, Barbie

Regis,
There aren't many that could transform these feelings into such beautiful words, but you are one that can.
Friendships are treasures, and we would do a good deed by remembering them as such.
Wonderful work Regis.
Friday I found out just what friendship is for me...as i injured my back again, my neighbors pitched in to walk Rufuz, put him out on the leash, and find medications that could put me down for the day...I stil ache, but only in my back and leg, as I do not have to worry about rides to the doctor etc and such...as always, Regis, a most inspirational posting...Ed & Rufuz

Truly telling it like the heart commands and the soul inspires, the secret of it all is friendship and you have captured it all with the stroke of your keyboard and said it for all of us...friendship.
The rich reward of friendship is that we get to read poems like this. Life is to be fortified by many friendships. This poem is why you, Regis, are able to draw us to you. I admire you. Like iron shavings to a magnet, I will always stick to your friendship. I am the warm breeze in your wind, the ripple in your water, and the fire in your hearth.
