Photo by me; these two daffodils have been in bloom for almost a month and were there during the last snowfall.

Poem Artwork

Ladies Of The Evening Lawn

They survived the late snowfall
Theses ladies on the lawn
Dressed in dainty golden gowns
They nod in the chilly breeze
They dance in the gathering gloom
Of fading day
They waltz
They twirl
They whirl
They swoon
In the scents of awakening spring
Until the stars appear
And a moonbeam sparkles
On their dew-dappled skin
And they fall asleep

Goodnight ladies
Goodnight

Lovely photo. Daffodils allure me because I love yellow, my favorite color, Daffodils nod their little heads to passerby's and create a scenic look that makes me want to stop a moment, and leave them after saying a prayer for all my friends and family.

I agree with Linda. A picture is worth a thousand words, but your poem entwines both the picture and the words. A very beautiful poem, my dear brother, by a more beautiful soul.

May the Lord Jesus bless you, and those whom you love, and be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, joy to the world, peace on earth, & ((((((((((MANY WONDERFUL SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), your little sister, Barbie

Daffodils have an inate toughness that complements the time of year they bloom. Their leaves, even their petals, are thick and leathery. It's a miracle they even grow at all. Yet when the sun warms their bed on a early spring day, they can't resist the urge to thrust up into the cold wind and dazzle us with their daring.

Wonderful tribute to these gorgeous gals who display themselves in most ball-like and Cinderella fashion come rain, hail, sleet or snow... and I know what tis like to be caught in the chill in the flimsy frillies!! ;)) You know how to make even nature feel like a Lady, you charmer, Monsieur! Most delicate and beautiful as much becomes your cute French accent... and I have no idea why I am being so flirty on this page today... must be spring! LOL Kate xx

absolutely a deep hearted velvet touch,,loved the capture of the picture,,,it really gives more meaning to the words,,,why is it that in dawn of the morn, and the twilight of the evening, seems to make one think it's hard to think of the cruelness and hardships of the world when there are words and pictures like this,,,but unfortunatley it's all out there, and thank God we have people like you to take us away, even if it's only for a moment,,thank you for your comment on my writing,,look forward to reading more of yours,,,thanks for sharing,,
