My friend, Michelle Mead is the reason for this poem. She insisted. I complied. This is a collaborative effort but she deserves the credit. Thank God for angels... ...so I agreed to try and write something with her.

Angels' Gift (Friendship)


Beset with memories
edges frayed
long before I circled
the mountain you made
into the heart of me

This mountain
Clad in a forest of emotions
I'm afraid
I get lost
In its maze
Of alluring paths

The paths run close
to the soul of the sun
to the eyes of the trees
watching you and me
embracing beneath its
fluttering leaves

Blessed am I to have chosen
the path that has brought me to you
as we confirm our friendship
among these kindred spirits
the sun
the trees
and all of the denizens
of this magical realm
we fall asleep
and dream
