These words kept whirling in my mind, twirling like gossamer in a whirlwind or flotsam in an eddy...

She called me
She called me an oasis
She called me an oasis of warmth
 
She got me
She got me thinking
She got me thinking about what it means
 
An oasis
A retreat
A haven
A refuge
A shelter
A sanctuary
An asylum
 
I thought
I thought about an iceberg
I thought about an iceberg of indifference
 
She made me
She made me feel
She made me feel all that she meant
 
It was
It was sweet
It was sweet of her to call me
It was sweet of her to call me an oasis
 
Her words melted
Her words melted the iceberg
Her words melted the iceberg that was in my soul
 
Now
Now a stream
Now a stream of hope flows
Now a stream of hope flows towards a sea of possibilities

This is a good poem but I am not sure about the repetition of phrases three times in each stanza though. I think the poem would be more affective if they didn't repeat as much.

I love the structure and how each stanza flows into the next. The message in this poem Reg is a good one and a very important one. It tells me that words can be soothing and relaxing, and can wash away, if only for a few moments, all the troubles that we carry inside. This is wonderfully written with a wonderful message. If I had to rate this I would give it a 10 out of 10. Than kyou for sharing this with us.
