A story of make-believe, or is it Another special member and favorite of the family is Ruby, an aptly named Ford sedan. The girl has attitude, refuses to even consider having a hitch put on her, and loves being in the company of other vehicles, particularly newly washed ones with big wheels but is not above sharing herself with mud-spattered Jeeps. She loves being pampered in car washes, and also getting new tires.
What is especially endearing about Ruby is her refusal to be cowed by Lucky, who rules the roost and considers everyone and everything to be subservient. When Lucky gets uppity, she flashes her headlights in warning that she is about to target his tail, of which he is particularly proud, and he scampers up the rope to his perch from which he observes and meditates when he is not up to mischief and other devices.
Ruby takes the children for rides to hot dogs, pizza, donuts, and banana splits, and the Bee always rides in back where she promptly falls asleep, and occasionally snores.
Ruby is in for some service work today, and tonight in celebrating her return there will be a big welcome home party. She is a most faithful and devoted friend to us all.
