Learning disabilities can be the 1st mile down that "lost highway". People with learning disabilities comprise about ten to twenty-five percent of the population. These people usually experience failure in school and often are socially dysfunctional. They also make up a disproportional number of the prison population. According to the researcher Wexler, up to seventy percent of adult prisoners may suffer from a learning disability know as A.D.H.D 7 , in contrast to three to seven percent of the general population.
