I have just read a blog from a writer who said that he had been rejected thousands of times and has lost thousands to scam artists.
We all know that writing is the next worse thing to trying to become the next Tom Crews. However, there are some simple things that you can do to improve the odds.
The 1st mistake that most writers make is that most try to write friction, because they don't want to explose themselves. This is something that you just have to live with.
Literary agent Jodie Rhode has stated that novels written by unknown writers are next to impossible to sell. This is especially true of romance novels where price is even more of an issure.
The hardest thing to sell is poetry. Publishers have always said," Give us anything but poetry. Although religous books sometimes make the best seller list, they too are a hard sell for new writers.
When I wrote, "I Thought I Would Never Make It Through The 4th Grade' I knew that it wasn't going to be as sellible as something like, "How I Went From Rags To Riches." However, I believed that there was a substantial market for it and I was right.I have already sold over twice the average for P.O.D books and I am just getting started.
