I was smart enought to write a book and get it published,yet many people have wondered if I had all of my marbles. My 1st grade teacher was a well meaning woman, who I believed had a learning disability herself. She thought she would never learn to read. She promsed God that if she ever did that she would spend her life teaching others. She taught 1st grade for many many years.
While it might seem that she would be my hero she isn't. When you have A D D your mind often wonders. My daddy used ti tell me that I was in another world. Anyway, I was sitting in her reading class one day when she thought I wasn't paying attention and she slapped me on the face so hard that I have never forgotten it. This was in 1942.
People who have A D D are hard to live with. When my wife tells me to go one way I often go the opposite, but she loves me anyway.
