Re-examine "Am I Satisfied with Self" 2/3/2009 8:03:21 PM
Need to look deeper into the ongoing question, Am I Satisfied With Self. “When you are satisfied with yourself, you can be happy no matter what circumstances you face.”
Am I satisfied with self? All I can control is me, my thoughts, words and actions.
Who am I? What matters to me? All areas of my life are connected and interdependent.
I am doing the work I love to do. My personality mandates that I love the work I do. I have never had an “ideal or dream” job as a goal. It has always been about the work I do making a contribution to a greater number beyond myself. I have experienced this is in working with not for profit organizations in urban areas and in corporate America working on an environmental project.
I enjoyed my work days in these environments, with the unexpected always challenging us to resolve issue effectively. I learning how to apply my knowledge gained from those experiences to the new professional demands.
I am satisfied that the best of me is yet to come. I am satisfied that I have to always grow and learn. I am satisfied it is about my journey which is about more than just me. I am very satisfied that I do not have all the answers. I am satisfied that I am not happy to be right most of the time. There are too many times when being right is emotionally painful. I am satisfied with this too.
I am satisfied with my new life and the continuous changes. I am satisfied that I am still building, learning and growing using my life experiences, mind, body and spirit to guide me. I am satisfied with living with the reality of interdependence which is humbling, very humbling. I am still gaining understanding and working on living in this new understanding of humility, continuation of humanity, life, love and Creation. How I respond to my problems dictates what I Create. How I respond to the consequences dictates what I continue to Create. I am satisfied with the fact I am still learning to live this way. I will always be learning how to live this way.
I am satisfied that this year will yield a bountiful harvest for our community. There is more than enough for all of us in reality. Mankind created resource shortage with immaturity, greed, violence and fear. “In the absence of the sacred, nothing is sacred and everything is for sale,” Onondaga Culture. This is a guide for me to live by that is supported by all Religions. It is the choices we make individually about sacredness in our lives that affects the rest of us. As humans we are so very fragile. It is time each of us honor this in the choices we make personally.
I have more questions than answers and I am satisfied with this personal fact. I am satisfied that I am always growing and learning which means making many mistakes. Only in working through the “mistake” do you realize there are no mistakes, just choices and consequences.
An intimate partnership between two people committed to each other requires the deepest love of all. To love others deeply, I must love myself deeply and make choices on how I do that every single second of my life in this day and age. Forgiveness of self is necessary for deep love to live inside you. The difficulty comes when expectations are not met and disappointment sets in while I am in the process of forgiving. Loving someone past your personal hurts and disappointments with them is a maturing process. I keep reaching deep down inside to stay focused on moving forward.
We all must reach deep down inside ourselves to love ourselves better in turn loving each other better. That is the only way for our survival. Living with this fact, I must keep asking myself “Am I satisfied with self?” and answer my self with detailed truth. What am I not satisfied with?
Can I be satisfied with self and not satisfied with my intimate relationship at this moment? But the remainder of the horoscope said, “and be happy no matter what circumstances you face.”
