Thoughts to share before I go to sleep. Our children will still need the strengths of our mothers, grandmothers and great-grandmothers. Though they had to face hard times we could never imagine, they did it. From that they gained a wisdom and strength that is invaluable and necessary to survive. Our children are inheriting challenges that are multi dimensional. They will need the wisdom of their maternal ancestors to guide them through the storms ahead.
So far my greatest challenge has been teaching my daughter how to handle disappointment and pain. For no matter what these are two guarantees in life at some point and time.
My mother passed on to me one of the greatest gifts, to be able to listen to your inner voice. As her mother told her, it never leads you wrong. I also worked since day one to pass this on to my daughter. For there will come a time when that is all she will have to rely on.
I pray this generation is able to have healthy, loving and strong partnerships. They cannot face what is to come alone.
