Life Lessons For Little Ones 7/27/2009 12:39:18 PM
Our grandson lives about half an hour away from where we do. Tuesday night we are going to pick him up and he is staying all night. He has not stayed all night since he was three. We are trying to make the time we spend with him memorable. Our son is divorced so we hate to take him away from them on the weekends that they have him. We are going to take him to the wildlife museum in our town and then to the fair. His real interest is in science, so every chance we get I try to put science in there somehow.
Last fall the cat drug up a little mouse and left it at the door. I have left it lay there all winter and summer. It has petrified out there, so when I asked him if he wanted to come and stay I asked him if he wanted to look at it under the microscope. He said, "Cool". On one side you can see through its skin and see its backbone. On the other side its teeth stick out and it still has some hair. We will do that on Tuesday night. I have rubber gloves so he cannot touch it and I will have to clean the microscope with clorox wipes after he looks at it.
My son finally appologized for holding it against me for getting older, at least for now anyway.
