Today my dad starts chemo once a week. He has kidney cancer that is incurable. He was on an experimental program, but then he had to have his gallblader taken out and since he had to miss some of the treatments they had to take him off of the program. While he was on the program his spots shrunk, but since he had to stop for a while they started to get bigger again.Then they put him on two pills twice a day, but it was the experimental drugs that helped. He has spots on his lung, liver, and a tumor in his abdomen. He does not hurt anywhere though and that is good! We do not know what will happen with the chemo though.
He missed all of the Christmas gettogethers, because these pills that he is on, every so often make these spots come that get like boils. They get red on his hands and feet, they get hot and in a few days they peel. They hurt alot, and some times they will get into a joint in his ankle or his hip and then he can hardly walk. It is sad.
My hair is going fast. I took 5 handfuls and threw them away yesterday. I still look okay if you did not know I had this. My son just keeps saying that he is sorry. This is a mess though. It is everywhere. I feel fine though and that is alot better than I thought it would be. Until later - Lori
