A Winner's Mind
1/27/2024 7:47:08 AM

A Winner's mind begins with just that - our mind, and how we choose to use it, beginning with our thoughts, whether positive or negative because that is the only thing we really can control. The choice is yours; the choice is mine. Let's choose wisely and know, for sure that our thoughts control our feelings and only we are in charge of our own happiness!
We are all products of our childhood and whatever we experience by age five(5) was cemented in our brains and hearts, only to be "altered" by conscious thought and certainly therapy, if these experiences were not positive. It's the only way to not be stuck, but to move on and create our own happiness.

Not all of us had a T.V. version of "Leave it to Beaver" childhood existence and many of us carry scars from whatever was not happy and wonderful while growing up. Yet, the wonderful thing about seeking healing and ending the cycle of abuse, neglect, abandonment, etc., we, as adults, can face the past and change the tape in our heads and hearts. I know that for a fact because I've done it - and continue to do it through this day - through self examination and certainly therapy where you face your demons and learn to make your own choice, now that you are a grown up and not that child where most of us are stuck.

And, above all, for me, my faith has played the major role for guidance, support and strength.

If you are stuck in the "Woe me," I don't judge you, but support you, with all my heart, further encouraging you to seek help because help is out there if you are willing. Don't give up!

We are now living in what's called "The New Normal" and the pandemic did not help by turning the world upside down. But life goes on and we need to gently "Gird our Loins" (great line from the movie "Prada"), breathe deeply and rely on whatever gives you strength: God, The Universe, Buddha, or whatever you believe it for inner power and strength.

And, if you're luck enough to have a family, count your blessings! Cherish them (if you can... a topic for another article). If you have friends, count your blessings; not all of us are that lucky. I'll be your friend if you need one.

In the meantime, know that you are special and that, like a snowflake, there is no other like you: you matter. You are loved. Above all, please try to count your blessings, beginning with your health (which can always be worse!), living in a free country and the eyes with which you are reading this...

Know you are loved!
