Regret Along the Alimentary Canal
a silly sonnet for Silke
On the banks of the alimentary
Canal tonight there is no peace for me
I put far too much hot sauce on my rice
And the outcome is... well... not very nice
Not just the outcome but the long journey
From end to end is rough for me my friend
It is so tough for me because I tend
To overdo things rather massively
And now must bear this outcome passively
A misjudgment for which I must atone
In the smallest room of my house alone
The worst instance yet of hot sauce regret
Why would I do such a thing as to bring
Such fury to such frail anatomy?
