The more we can face down our demons, the less power they have over us.
The more willing we are to release our grasp of perfection, the less we live outside of our expectations, and the more we can see things as they really are. I guess you have to ask yourself, "Do I really want (or need) to change?" Sometimes that depends on what you think life's purpose is for you. Not everyone agrees that happiness is the most important thing. I'm still figuring that out.
I am always a bit afraid of being left holding the booby prize. What I have learned through observation, though, is that we all take our turn being the odd man out. And sometimes not getting the prize we think we deserve is the best prize of all.
In any case, yep, what we think about when no one is looking is usually revealing. And it seems to me that we learn more about ourselves through our accidents than our plans – or our anti-plans.
I think the weaver of dreams for the souls of the artists knows all too well where the easiest place is to trap us and capture what we hold most dear. The love within in our hearts though will always give us the power over the darkness and light our way into clarity like that proverbial beacon on the shore guides the ships to safety.
Excellant write Steve, font is a little too light though it might be intentional old eyes are hard to strain.

Yes, I think more of us feel this way than not- the first stanza actuallt made me think of my brother who has mental illness and that is his everyday life, and trying to overcome that feeling. I think most just don't admit to feeling that way, and are afraid to admit so, and then call those who do ill, when they are really the ones who are ill with the sameness of being.
