I Love Hallowe'en

I love Hallowe'en
And have the eccentricity
Of using an apostrophe
From one E to the other E
In the in between

Jack o' lanterns and
Masks and makeup and monster feet
Asking for handouts trick-or-treat
Up and down both sides of the street
But you understand

You remember too
Before November winds blew in
That night reality grew thin
And magic brewed between us then
What we used to do

You know what I mean
I love Hallowe'en
