I don’t find it funny at all That thing inside my elbow joint The one that lets me see the stars When I whack it on its magic point It has a dreadful sense of humor This awful little nerve Just why it’s called a funny bone A bogus name it does not deserve It told me a joke just yesterday But funny it was not The visual effects were quite intense And nearly dropped me on the spot I guess it’s not the elbow’s fault When I walk and swing it free For though the joint is clearly humorous The joke will always be on me Copyright 2010 Patrick A. Man, i've hit that thing so often at work. i can't imagine why it's called what it is, unless it's because when i hit it, and i'm grimacing, all the others around me are chuckling

OUCH! Hitting your funny bone is NOT funny; have done that plenty of times, and I just about cry every time. Doesn't help I have arthritis there either. :/ Cute write, though; well done! Love the piccy! LOL

In German it's called "Musikantenknochen." Means musician's bone. Guess they have a slightly different take. Makes you sing instead of laugh. Funny poem!
