The old red light was on today

No, not exactly what you think

The message, “Cannot find the server”

My internet connection extinct

The problem really made no sense

It was working an hour ago

I’d made a short run to the store

Now the line had a crimson glow

The wife pled suspicious ignorance

The dogs were lost in dream

So I called the tech at AT&T

To help restore my data stream

The guy was really quite polite

As we stumbled through the task

Eliminating this and that

Till he finally had to ask

“Are you sure the phone line’s connected

To the modem we provide

I’ve run the diagnostics

And they’ve almost never lied”

So we tried another phone cord

And I’ll be damned if it didn’t work

I had no explanation

Just another computer quirk

But as I retrieved the faulty cord

I noticed something new

It seems that stinkin’ Weasel

Had chewed the phone cord right in two

So when the tech guy asks a question

That seems stupid on its face

Be assured that you’re the one

Who'll suffer technical disgrace
