Variety Anxiety

It's true .

Poem Artwork

It occurred to me late last night

I’ve got an ailment I can’t control

It’s probably not too serious

But it affects the stuff I scroll

 

Variety anxiety

It pervades my daily ritual

Can’t choose between life’s entrees

Because they all are quite habitual

 

Kraut and sausages on Tuesday

And pizza Wednesday night

Salads are on Mondays

So I don’t doze off while I write

 

I like to live a smorgasbord

A buffet of odds and ends

But I’m also a creature of habit

Upon which my creativity appends

 

Thus if I pen a funny poem

And then write something blue

It’s just that my variety anxiety

Convinced my muse what I should do

God didn't eat just oxtail soup, did he? He grew into a fine young man St. Popeye was strongly proud of at the arm wrestling spinach contest. Tourniquet please, I bleed!

Poetry is about moments...some are happy, some not so happy, love,hope,laughter,fear.........we put our quills to all of our thoughts...not just the select ones.......I felt this poem right to the tip of my quill! Great job, Patrick....your poem dd what it was meant to do.......touch people......
