More bizarre stuff you just can’t make up……40 year old James Salizar of Grand Junction Colorado needed to get to work last Wednesday so he hopped on a passing freight train. Unfortunately the train did not stop at his intended destination. About 80 miles later and freezing his butt off he called 911 to stop the train. It stopped and James got 3 days in a Glenwood Springs jail for misdemeanor trespassing.

To the tune 500 miles

Poem Artwork

If you miss the train I’m on

Please just dial up 911

You can hear the whistle blow

A hundred miles

Lord I’m one, Lord I’m two, Lord I’m three

Lord I’m four, Lord I’m five

Hundred miles away from home

Not a penny to my name

Looks like that remains the same

My boss can hear the whistle blow

A hundred miles

Three days in Jail for my ride

I made the news but lost my pride

I can hear the whistle blow

A hundred miles

So now just how do I get home

I am afraid to use my phone

I can hear the whistle blow

A hundred miles

My legs are worn my feet are tired

I hope that I do not get fired

I’ll just have to keep a walkin’

A hundred miles

Thanks for enlightening me to the latest stupidity. Why am I thinking of “Good morning America, how are you? I'm the train they call The City of New Orleans. I'll be gone 500 miles before the day is through.”

How romantic– hopping a train!”

I've been "slackin" fer a spell and haven't been keeping up on my AD buddies, but I'm trying to get back to normal. So, when I check on "new postings" there's Patrick with a nice jovial posting. It's good to be back, I've missed this. Thanks Patrick. Dick

Very funny and, as a lover of folk music, you did ring a familiar chord. This kind of reminds me of the guy that wanted to fly someplace but didn't have money so he hid in the wheel well of a large plane, and froze to death.
