A tongue in cheek poem about being n author

I call myself an author

at least it sounds so refined

as if I am someone important

perhaps not

maybe a little 'blind'.

I have made all the grotty mistakes

placed myself on the chopping block,

then after all is said and done

decided to re-write the flipping lot.

Perhaps that believing

has nurtured a will

that keeps me believing

till then

and until

Perhaps the chopping block

was what I neede

to get me in control

of my brain

and the missing bits.

If only,

so often spoken

and ignored,

yet the writer has the chance

to revisit and restore,

not be crushed by unlettered fools

but be upstanding as you choose.

I am an author

and there I will stay

even if the rejection slips

come my way.

ABSOLUTELY! Do not be crushed by either kind of fools: lettered or unlettered. Rejection slips make excellent wallpaper or you can bundle them to burn. Love your lines "I am an author/And there I will stay. . . ." You speak for many of us.

Love is a Pretty Girl with a Cape to Share Your Dreams With by Bob Boze

A humorous look at the world and life through my eyes. Follow the author and his wife, as they travel the world …. several times over. Laugh at their funny stories, self-inflicted crazy events, strange observations, wacky zoo facts and snippets
