Many ponder death with deaf ears ;
breathing only what can be understood.
They fear the end is a final acceptance
of all life has to offer not knowing there
can be no beginning without an end.

Only when one sees his face in
the eyes of another does he realize that
living is a preparation for the inevitable.
When last breaths come there is no remix.
The song can only be original
and all artist must go it solo.

Paul, I have a lump in my throat after reading this..."there
can be no beginning without an end," but then, we begin again, don't we, in a spiritual sense. The last three lines provoke so much thought. Beautiful writing.

Well said! But remember, creation is one giant circle. Therefore we go around in circles, each round giving us a new journey in the physical. Ouch!

"... see his eyes in the face of another..."

this brings back a moment in time when I saw myself through my daughters eyes and found my way... my own way to live and believe, hope and pray about today and tomorrow... to cope

A fantastic poem about the truth of life. We are all one, but we are solo in our oneness! Our experience is ultimately the same however we experience life experiences individually for our soul growth, and evolvement. We on this great journey of life together, separately, all one! Love your work Paul!

Poetry's compliance throughout this ontologic-teleological
composition. "Solo" has added value to the Major Art.

I have enjoyed reading this magnificent composition.

Yeah that's the scary part. I had a
near death experience and I don't think
I feared death but the idea of being alone.
Great write Paul!

Yes, and so true. Jesus' parable about the dishonest but clever steward addresses this same foolishness of man. At least he understood he needed to get his house in order and be prepared. Enjoyed it, Paul. ~~Nordette

Paul I have to so agree with Alexandra in everyhting she said. This poem is very deep, and the analogy is perfect, for in the end, He did His solo perfromance, as must we all. Thnx for sharing Paul, I really love this one, because it is so true. May the Lord Jesus bless you, and be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, joy to the world, peace on earth, & (((HUGS))), Barbie

The title of your poem enticed a smile and my curiosity, because I had just posted one called "Duet" (it appears imediately after yours in the poetry board). After reading it, though, the smile became wistful... There is indeed a sadness brought by a deep perception of solitude and inevitability in your beautiful writing, Paul. But there is also the wisdom of an awareness that there can be no beginning without an end... but there can be no end without a beginning, and such is the cycle of things and of being. Not only in death, but also in life (as one is part of the other) should we never disregard the importance of solos, because it's the full respect of them that makes duets... and even choirs possible, as well as masterpieces that go on...
It's good to read you again.
