The Beaver

Trees turning green
Branches fattening, with new buds
Soon spouting
Grass blades growing
The green is preparing,
The Spring that's waiting.

Mockingbirds singing, chirping
Early morning tunes
The hawk is on the prowl
Flying low, perching high.

Blackbirds nesting, near my sight
Chasing the predator away
Same old cycle
Year in year out.

Cold breeze warming
Snowy forest, observed
Through bare trees
On clear mornings.

Snow thawing, icicle melting
Dripping from utility poles
Ice covered, tree branches
With scenes of diamonds
Growing on threes.

Stream running, sweet water
Rushing
down hill
The Beaver's days 0ff
Are over.

It doesn't matter which way you take it Joshua, in spring the beavers come out of hiding. LOL Excellent write, William.
