Just happy that you and your wife and so many lucky others were able to come through with their lives. Some people never take hurricanes seriously. One family member, when called...were having a Hurricane Party and drinking without serious thoughts of what could happen. When asked if it was raining they replied they didn't have a clue cause the windows were boarded up. Thank goodness fore thought gave rise to some wisdom before the alcohol came out. I've been through a few hurricanes and they can turn around with the powerful seriousness that makes ugly headlines later. Thanks for giving us a view of this storm. You made it live in a safer genre for us.

Many storms have I seen and been thru and I know what you went thru, living now 30 miles from the beach I still can get the winds, and you described it so well, no need for imagination here...Enjoyed this one Bill, Hope you find Peace Now, Ed & Rufuz

nature can really zap us sometimes ... i really like the imagery and tone of this poem which gives the reader an inside glipmse of nature's fury ...
