Perched In A Storm

Nature plays for me
Not with me
As I view
A dangerous rain storm
Winds blowing
Every which a way
Trees bending left and right.

Gray is the view
Before me
Limited
By the absence, of sunlight.

Water pouring from the heavens
Birds struggling, to stay perched
Before me I see a storm
From the safety of my home.

Thunder is master, rules this day
As the sound
Of the lightning, far away
Here and there
Everywhere.

Birds still struggling
To stay perched
The grass was green yesterday
Greener today
Who knows
How it will be tomorrow
Nobody cares.

Untill they count, their sorrows
Yet the birds are still perched
All this, is viewed
From the safety, of my home
Of cause, this didn't pertain
To my car,
I left the windows opened.

A wonderful nature poem, can picture those birds perched, like we must do in a life storm.

I was thinking of the floods in Texas and Worldwide, something serious. But, you brought it down to that last line, and I LOL.
Great serious nature write flavored with humor.
