A Winter Thought

Cold cloudy day
Snow silently Swirls
Across an icy country road
Red Barn, old silo, in sight
A small corner family farm
Blue Jay flies across
My thoughts
She perched on a leafless
Berry tree
Filled with drying fruits
Selects her treats
She flies away from me
Soon on a Spring day
She'll return to nest
Upon that tree
She once ate, her favorite treats
And flew away from me.

A blue jay flies across my thoughts.... mine, too, have often been so pleasantly disturbed.

This is a colorful write, even in the dead of winter. I feel as though this poem could mean so many different things. Like a painting in which you see something different each time you view it.

Marvelous winter picture you've painted here, William. And like that Blue Jay, I'm already ready for Spring.

How sweet. Nature is wonderful and you painted such a lovely picture as if it was on canvas that I would love to have that picture on my wall. although that picture wouldn't be able to portray the swirling snow and the bird as she lands eats nests and flies. This is Beautiful.
Thank you for this Big Smile and Peaceful feeling.
Love, Tracey

They are rather striking birds and I once raised one and the bird came back with its kin. A very nice poem about one of my favorite birds.
