I wait in the cover
Of The Night
For my vision to gaze
Upon the sunrise
That's slowly materializing
Beyond the darkness
Of the horizon's east.

A lone mosquito
Torments my every thought
As it continuously
Buzzes around my ears
My hands shoos at empty air.

The croaking of frogs continue
In The Night
It's hot and Muggy
The bull frogs burp
Thier bass mating calls
Which is dull and deep
As it slices through
The silence Of The Night.

Birds are waking up
Chirp here, chirp there
As they sense the changing colors
Along the eastern sky.

An owl stealthily
Swoons down on a rodent
I see a little tail wiggling
Between it's talons
As he took flight
I fear to imagine
What slithers on the grass.

Or which venomous arachnid
Is the master, of that huge web
Where a moth struggles
For it's freedom
Not knowing
That it is contributing
To it's own death.

Great images, but I cringe at the mosquito one. Them suckers think I'm sweet or something.

This one gave me a shiver William, as I picture all

One death, one life, what goes around does seem to come around. Or sumthin' lak dat. Loved this one. Am not a great "nature" buff, it seems the poetical world is overrun with poems about it, but this one was special to me. Good.

A very contemplative write William.

There are miracles happening all around us
wheteher we are awake or dreaming.

Ahhhh To sleep...perchance to dream. Sometimes a sleepless night is a living nightmare. As we lie there in that foggy place somewhere between awake and asleep our mind wanders to those places that pull at our suppressed insecurities. So vulnerable are we as we teeter on the threshold of a dream. Interesting write...I could feel that frustrating feeling of sleeplessness.
Take care,
Sherry
