Cleanse me all mighty
Cloud of burst
As you force your presence
Upon us
Wash me, clean my soul
Drain me of any sins
For I don't know where to begin
To praise you for the waters
That makes your existence
As you intrude
Within the trees and grasses
Some will benefit
For others
It will be, just another calamity
The hills that surround us
Observe the bending of the palms
As they give to zephyrs
Driving before you
Thrashing the innocence
Of what used to be
That no longer is.
Gentle are the streams
With infant rippling waters
Watch them grow
And over flow
Rapids materializing
raging through and out
Banks eroding
Critters just trying to survie
Will fare well
Where safty is, if any
Listen to the storm shatter
Your peace of mind
Light of hope seeps 'neath
Monstrous clouds of hideousness
Twister threatening, from hell
Black clouds moving faster now
Towards virgin horizons ahead
Hope installed on faces
That have seen worst yet.
Thunder distancing itself
From the present
Rapidly moving, devastating
Into the unknown
Of a distant horizon
Rolling thunder rumbles
Are being swallowed
Into green fields and vallys
In the path of cloud burst
When you are gone
No one will remember, You passed
You left no name.
Thunderous!:) You capture the feeling so well.
Love-hate that accompanies Nature's pyrotechnics.
(Hope I spelled it right.) Sure glad I caught this one...
though I confess after the damage that Fran did here,
hurricane season puts me on edge.
May be a good thing? All need to remind ourself
just how short life is, right?
May you survive every storm. Emerge better than ever
(if that is possible).
Nature rages with little regard for mankind which is only fair since we seem to have little regard for her. She will always win, for we have no way to harness and stiffle her. Your images are strong; I could hear the raging wind and the rushing water that you painted so vividly into your verses. Fear is the healthiest response we can have to storms, though mostly I am awed. Exceptional write, William!
Take care,
Sherry

One can feel and see the elements, you paint here.
Excelence my friend..
Boy, Bill, this has got to be, if not THE best, it is one of your best, a powerful statement regards Nature and your view of it...Thoreau would be proud...Peace, Ed & Rufuz
William,
I've seen many tornadoes, and this expresses the horror well. They are a mighty force to be reckoned with, and if at all possible to avoid!
Excellent write.
A book of nature inspired poems and essays, written from the heart and soul of a life-long nature, animal, and wilderness lover, and dedicated to today’s children - Earth's only hope for a better tomorrow.
This book won 'The Poetry Category'
Other than "Love Is" This is also a keeper for sure!!
