I was unable to view
The sunset beyond the mountains
Dusk has arrived
Bringing with a chill
A down jacket
I adorned on, to retain
The little warmth I felt
As the Georgia Sunshine
Faded into the black of night.

The silence
Is like a sound barrier
For the birds I am unable
To hear.
As a beautiful full moon
Presents itself
Over the leafless
Winterized trees
At a distance
I can hear, my mile away
Nieghbor's coon hound
"Red Bone."

Howling and running a mock
Caused by something
He has caught scent of.
In the morning
If I am blest by the Lord
I'll see another
Miraculous sunrise.

The vision of young green pines
I crave for
Are scatttered sporadically
In the brown dead leaves
Covered ground
Within the boondocks
I view at awe, behind
The dwelling of my seed.

Oooh, I loved this write William, I felt right at home while reading it. Reminds me much of my home, my husband was an avid coon hunter for years, had a red bone as well named...yeah you got it...Red! He had a way of always adding Old Red, or Old Blue...to all of their names, I loved to hear them run didn't enjoy the hunt just hearing them. He now rabbit hunts with beagles, however my neighbor who lives about a mile away still has coon hounds and I hear them occasionally...your write is down home good! Loved it! We are blessed to be alive and living in such a beautiful and wonderful country.
Blessings,
Joyce Bowling

William I enjoyed the fresh imagery presented in this work.
I could feel the crispness of the air, and the sound of the hound.
Wonderful write thank you for sharing something different.
