I walked early in my morning
The day was clear
Sun beating down hard
On my back
It continued burning
Till my walk last.
I looked down at the ground
Watching my sweat
Pelting the concrete sidewalk
Like drops of rain
While the sun beat on my back
Causing me still much pain.
I saw beneath a bush
At the edge of the walk
I salamander, not moving
Thought he didn’t see me
The fact of the matter was
He was dead
Dehydrated by the sun
I let him be
So he may rest.
From between
Two beautiful houses
With a view
Of a lovely lake
In their background.
A black bird stealthily flew
Towards my direction
Silently
With a lizard
Still wiggling within
The grasp of her beak.
Nature in all her glory
Had just shared
This wonderful vision
With me.
As the bird flew towards
Her nest
To feed her young
Showing me nature’s way
Of surviving another day.
I love nature it's the most beautiful gift in the world!

A beatiful literary painting of a urban landscape, where a drop of sweat will pelt the pavement where a salamander has come to the end of its life cycle and the chicks of a bird started theirs.

That's one of the reason why I like to jog late in the afternoon, its too hot in the mornings ... Great imagery ... I felt like I was there ... hugs

"blackbird singing in the dead of niiiiiiight"....this was very natural [pardon the play] seemed just to flow from you and your eye for details and linking them to things of realness, life, struggle, recovery, DIScovery. . .. simple and soft, like the bird itself.....loverly write.
