The Weed
~~~*~~~
Upon a morning stroll
Warm and misty day
I spied a Weed
That caught my eyes
Though its usually
Looked upon as a pest,
Ugly and useless
It spawned
Though mulch elegantly
Crowned with morning dew
I had not the heart
To pulled and discard it
Just allowed it
To live.
I like the definition of a weed that merely says "an unwanted plant."
Clearly you did not see a weed.
Very well stated.
It's so true that what many deem to be weeds are actually beautiful natural plants. There's nothing "natural" about a vibrant green lawn with not a weed on it...sure wouldn't let my grandchild play on one...nicely done, William...love your point of view.
Nice write William! Good for you! Why kill a nice looking plant? I find myself becoming very selective these days with weeds. If it's not hurting another plant than just let it live. Amen...
Peace be with you,
John Michael
Weeds are plants, too. They often grow where nothing else will. A good metaphor for how to treat other humans.
It doesn't look ugly to me. It looks green and vibrant. Wise choice.
