A Golden Leaf

I spied
A golden brittle leaf
Worn with time
Of a late Fall
Wedged securely
In a field of clovers
Where no trees reside.

I clicked a photo
Of it
Thought it unique
Wondering if it were
Transported there
Riding on the heels
Via a gentle vortex
Of chill crispy
Fall winds.

It could be a sign of something good… Something golden. But then again, it could be just a leaf. At least, to one poet, the leaf was golden.

BEAUTIFUL PICTURE! WHEN HIS WIND BLOWS, THERE'S NO TELLING WHERE HE'LL TAKE HIS GOLDEN CREATIONS. ENJOYED AND THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

What a lovely leaf! When trees are covered in this color, it looks like gold is dripping from the tree. You got your golden nugget!

Love ya!

Your story and picture put me in mind of how we all get old and wrinkled eventually & the fact that the slightest breeze can blow us off our feet... <smile> -e-

I am sure it was transported there via wind. Never saw clover like that though.
