One part of this city is unaware of what is happening in its other part. It's name is Mogadishu. It is the capital city of Somalia. And Somalia is where I call home.

IDP* means internally displaced populations.

The sound of the mortar attack drew closer
Two rival factions started shelling each other
Taking part were some of the most notorious warlords
I and family packed to flee for a safer location
We had became one more figure in the IDP List
surprisingly we couldn't take rest in our new home
This time not from the sound of the wheezing rocket
But from the merry laughter of a cheering crowd
At our backyard there was a small private theatre
A local music band was staging a heated drama
Taking part were some of the most famous comedians
We live in a city partly singing partly burning.
When the heads are divided the hearts are divided too

"We live in a city partly singing partly burning.
When the heads are divided the hearts are divided too "

Sadly, this is a universal theme, Abdi-Noor. If one looks at our world, that is just the way it is. Powerful sentiments, my friend. Love and peace to you,

Regis

I hear you Brother Abdi-Noor divided heads abound everywhere it seems but take heart you are never far from the hearts of your supporters here in the den. Peace, love, and blessings for enabling us to better define our own. <Mikii>

Ah, this can be so true, even in other countries, even within one's own family! Keep safe. Keep writing!

MashaAllah! Abdinoor, this reminds me of Mogadishu of 1988 (I was on holiday there when the governemnt and the SNM were locked in a fierce fighting n Hargeisa and Burco. People were fleeing from those war in the North and you could see refugees all over the place... Mogadishu was singing then...Siyad Siyad FAther Siyad....I was so ashamed. It's a vicious circle, isn't it?

Show just how insensitive Somalis are.

I sure hope this situation gets resolved as the news is confusing as to if it is resolved or not.

Abdi Noor I can't even begin to imagine what it must be like for you and your family! I hope and pray that our Lord will give some aid and comfort to your cause, and for your continued safety! It saddens me to know the piight of so many in this world, and so little can be done it seems. God go with you!
