The air strikes in Gaza have moved me to write this poem. Quelling violence with violence is no solution to ending violence. If rockets keep coming into Israel and the military aircrafts keep responding with bombardments what will happen? Death and destruction, nothing else. If any ceasefire agreement is exploited for the advantage of preparing more attacks after its date of expiry, will peace ever shine upon?
It is impossible to clean rockets from Palestine much as it is impossible to stop Israel from using planes to silence these rockets. If this is the case, what is the solution? Do we just sit back and watch grisly scenes on the TV? After all the dimension of the conflict is much bigger than the difference between the two countries, I guess.
Children of Abraham
Of Isaac and Ishmael
Of David and Solomon
Of Moses and Mohamed
Why kill each other?
Why burn land of joy
Where Jesus was born?
Have they not preached love?
Have they not spread peace and love?
Have they not taught tolerance?
In heaven they are enjoying together
While in a lake of fire you are drowning?
What is wrong with you dear brothers?
In which soil is this grain of hatred buried?
Is it the books prophets had left behind
That have led you to the gates of hell
Or is it your wrong interpretation
that drive you to fight like crazy?
If you are in war with your neighbor
You are obviously in war with yourself
No matter how much firepower you possess

Abdi-Noor, I learned a saying from a book so long ago..... it still is with me.
"How often it is that the angry man rages denial of what his inner self is telling him?"
Rage and hate have blinded both sides. Both have forgotten God, blinded to see Him in ordinary life. God is here as you know; in your heart, and I hope in mine. To those whose eyes are open, whether Jew, christian, Muslim, bring peace and let peace roll out to show the world that God truly lives......
This amazes me in this modern age, that people still look for differences instead of the similarities we all share, thanks Abdi, for bringing it to our attention with this timely poem.
Always there will be a crazy and overambitious man that will prey among the needy and the ignorants to reach his goal.
Like a puppet master pulling the strings, he will use his own people lives to wake up sympathy, he doesn't want peace because war is filling his coffers.
Abdi Noor, you see the situation much better than most,and my heart bleeds for the conflict that never ends in your part of the planet.
Sadly, the bible has prophesied what is and will continue to happen, but the warring factions aren't listening!I can only hope and pray, God will keep you and yours in His loving care...
Understanding, tolerance, compromise, and love -- all of these are needed to accomplish the common goal of many cultures living together in harmony, for the good of mankind! Blessings to you, Abdi-Noor during this holiday season and the year to come!

Yes this says so much. I do not understand how people can think of life in such disregard. War is ridiculous and senseless and against all of our higher power's desires. We must have peace, there is no doubt about it.
