Poem Artwork

My aluminum stylus scratches onto a 2-inch screen that does not support java script, searching for a 21st century update on creating a message in bottle - that can be read not by just one - but by millions. Okay maybe only thousands. All right! so it's only a couple of dozen people. I never was one of the popular girls - but that is a poem of a different story - and this my message in a bottle thrown into the eye of another hurricane.

We still don't have phones, and only partial cable, which means - NO INTERNET. Fortunately our power is still up, but the wind is blowing something wild; and the rain keeps coming down - that is when it's not blowing horizontal, and I can graffiti quite nicely on my palm phone this message: Calling all Dick Tracy's. Get Hurricane Frances out of my town.

Signed: a Damsel in Distress

P.S. - Immediately after I posted this, I could see the blue light from transformers blowing up. Frances has been on our heads since last night, and it continues to blow. I won't be surprised if in an hour or so, we lose power.
P.P.S. - Unlike Charley, we did not lose power. We're keeping our fingers crossed that Ivan the terrible sets course for another continent, as this one is finished being scoured.

I am so sorry, I don't mean to be unsympathetic to your problem, but as I read this, that picture of the little cat who is hanging on two strands of wire and is walking across with his two front legs. Hope you fared well, Sara.

Sara, you love!! I've been wondering, ever so fiercely, what's been going on with you people going through this hurricane! Thank you, so much, I feel relief that you are riding this storm out, and many of my cyber-friends are also. Courage and thoughts of encouragement go out to you, Doc, and all...

Well bless your heart. We've been in the cross hairs of this beast for the last two days too. We lost power for 6.5 hrs today, and fortunately got it up in time to try and fix some dinner before it all spoiled. My writing has certainly reflected all of this crappy weather. Two poems and an article. I'll be glad to write about something else. Take care, it'll be over soon! Then...the clean up. Ew. Michelle/Tampa Bay
