This poem was inspired by an article I had read by Ed Kostro titled, "I Cry." Thank Ed for inspiring me to write about how we are rapidily destroying ourselves. Hopefully, we will stop this insanity before it is too late. I have a feeling that will not happen, at least not in my lifetime. Please be sure to check out the link I provided at the end of the piece to a site that has a plethora of links on extinctions.
Agenda We all have one At the very least there is the will to survive Can’t get more primal than that Then for others There is the will to elevate To a higher power Or above the fray
So now we wonder Is that power within Or ethereal?
Stepping in.
See walls Between life and LIFE
My life is so unique relative to earth’s life I don’t burrow I don’t climb I don’t breathe water I don’t fly from limb to limb …building nests in between I have no den I have no owner of me I don’t cower for I have no other predators And let no life stand in my way of consumption
I am the mighty human My agenda supercedes all others And when I have stripped the planet of every leaf Every seed Every animal All that bleed And there is nothing left with which I can feed Then I the mighty human would have learned the cost That by winning I have lost
I would have to agree that mankind won't truly realize the error of our ways in our lifetime. Great thought-provoking write, Sara. We need more of these.
Sara, this is quite the interesting thought. May have to study on this one a bit. Good write. Lisa

Hi Sara,
You really have the Christmas blues at the moment, and you being a good Yiddish lady too.
Normally you are usually one very smart cookie.
why did you stop half way through the equation, lets face it, if we get that stage, then we have just to revert back to eating each other.
We have been doing it for thousands of years.
There is the answer No more turkey’s for Christmas, roast a Yank.
Big Smile.
Mor.
PS There is no fish in the sea.
Compound technology feeds off compound human propagation, which feeds off compound technology ... and hurtles toward calamity. Somewhere in this cycle we have to put the brakes on, slow it down. To be human is to embrace technology. Let's hope we can turn technology to the problem of compound human propagation before our world is rendered unlivable.
Best regards,
Leland
