Violent echoing Throws my nerves off balance A peaceful evening interrupted This clever game of cat and mouse Weakening dulled senses Cuddle close To escape the echoing And replace the rain With breathes of slumber

These echoes? Very mysterious. A storm? A neighbor involved in spousal abuse? Basketball players on a cement court?
