When Doogie was younger he used to call me his 'washing machine' so I made up this little poem and drew myself :)! *********************

“Grandma is my washing machine-- she lathers me up, rinses me clean. She brushes my teeth--makes them gleam. Grandma is my washing machine! Smell my hair, it’s really keen. I splash her good. She’s never mean. I can wait to become a teen. Grandma is my washing machine! Our clothes are the cleanest I’ve seen. I am the King and Gram is my Queen. Come and visit, you’ll see the sheen. Grandma is my washing machine! I agitate her now and then. She patiently guides and then grins. We’ve love, happiness, in the spin. Grandma is my washing machine!”

Those days when washing machines were not known, those are the days when our cloths were cleaner:) :). Pleasant memories, Sandra.

doing my laundry
but I remember, my mother
struggling away the beauty of her hands
on the wash board
